What is coaching?
The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.
The essential term in this definition is partnering. The Professional Coach is not an expert who knows better how to do it or what is right. The client is the expert with regard to himself. The coach is a thinking partner who facilitates a goal-oriented process with a head and a tail, allowing the client to tap into his / her own resources, discover new perspectives, find answers and solutions, and thus develop his / her potential.
Coaching is all about raising awareness and taking responsibility for your own growth and development. The task of the Professional Coach is to ask the right questions and to reflect observations like a mirror. Asking the right and to-the-point questions invites reflection and the attainment of a higher level of consciousness. This will give you the insight you need to overcome the obstacles and impediments on your path to growth, development, success and happiness.
